He reached the next hill and could see Kaya curled up against the bumper and the Commander standing near her. His back was to him, watching the others running towards the fire. Andrew laid down in the prone position and put the sights of his rifle on the back of the man's head. He wasn't more than twenty yards away, an easy shot. If he was lucky, the roar of the still burning RV would drown out the sound of the small caliber shot. His heart hammered in his chest and the blood pounded in his head. His stomach felt sick. He held his breath and squeezed the trigger.
